My Top 5 Bucket List Destinations

With summer quickly creeping up there is definitely one thing on my mind lately and that is travel. Ever since I was little there was nothing more exciting than jumping on a plane with my family and flying off to another country. I would consider myself lucky as a child as my parents did bring me on a lot of holidays and I owe it to them for my love of travel.  I’ve always had an idea of a bucket list but never really thought about a proper one until now especially since I am older now and  can use my own money to go travelling and see new places. Over the past couple of days I have really put some thought into what places I would like to see next. In saying that, I wanted to be realistic and pick places that I can actually afford to go to and hopefully tick off my list in the next year or two.

So here are my following top 5 bucket list destinations:

1. Paris, France

Paris the capital of France is known as the city of lights.  This city is a magical fairy tale alive in the 21st century that offers something for everyone from shopping to beautiful architecture. As a child I went to Disneyland, Paris but we all know that doesn’t really count as I never got to see Paris. As the city of love, art, fashion and inspiration this comes in as number 1 on my list.

2. New York, USA

Also known as the “Big Apple” this city consists of five boroughs; Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. It’s iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. It’s no wonder why this concrete jungle is one of the most popular tourist destinations ever.

3. Santorini, Greece

Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). This comes in as my number 3 as it offers stunning views from sky-high towns, eclectic cuisine, lovely galleries, a thriving nightlife and best of all excellent wines.

4. London, United Kingdom

London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city. For most people this will not be on their bucket list because as I can imagine many people have been to London but even though this city is only across the water unfortunately I haven’t gotten the chance to visit it.

5. Amsterdam, Netherlands

And last but not least, Amsterdam. Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ capital, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city’s 17th-century Golden Age.Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are numerous bike paths. The main attractions of the city include the Van Gogh museum, Rijksmuseum, Vondelpark and the Anne Frank House.

Hey Guys!

This weather lately has been giving me such a summer feeling especially since it’s only May. Unfortunately, as we all know this is Ireland and this gorgeous weather won’t stick around for much longer. In saying that, festival season is approaching so I am starting to look into festival clothing especially since I am heading to Electric Picnic this September. Even though it is months away I still want to start planning outfits mainly because I will be spamming my Instagram with photos of my outfits over the 3 days.

Today I decided to post on a summer/festival outfit that I put together. It’s a summer yet edgy look which doesn’t have to be worn with heels (as seen on me), instead put on a pair of flat trainers and a shoulder bag and you’ve got your day time casual look. To transition this look into more of a festival one just pop on a pair of black studded boots (I will link some below), add a cute festival fanny pack (links below) and finish it all up with some festival glitter and jewels.

Much love,

Grace x
